THE 2015 VERMONT OPEN
The Snurfer challenge is about getting back to the roots of what was attracted many of us to the sport snowboarding from the beginning. For the youth who participated in this years Snurfer challenge, no other event offered such an easy going opportunity to compete amongst friends in an event requiring nothing more than a board, a rope, a helmet and a smile.
LESS TECH IS MORE FUN
With huge snowfalls in the North East, these kids take to a local hill and have a blast with their Snurfer Boards. Take the fun inside after a day in the cold and jump on a VewDo Balance Board and enjoy some hot chocolate.
50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SNURFER
It was Christmas Day 1965 in Muskegon, Michigan and we had a tremendous snowfall the night before plus I had two daughters and a third on the way. My wife said, “Sherman, you gotta get these kids out of the house.” The voice of Sherman Poppen, the inventor of The Snurfer takes you from its humble roots to the VewDo boards of today.
FROM THERE TO HERE
What happens when you update a classic? Backyard magic! The original Snurfer is great, but we’ve also built a new version with our own flair. Tyler Emond—pro snowboarder, longtime friend, and rider of VewDo Balance Boards—took our early prototype of the Nomad out for a few runs.
In an effort to compile some early season on snow Snurfer footage, we sent the first two boards ever made out to my Pro Snowboarder and Coaching buddy Chris Waker in Colorado. That’s Chris Waker not Walker by the way… He took a couple of his snowboarding students onto some early season snow and shot the following. Looks like they had a blast.
Gadgets & Gear with Greg @ SIA 2014
It’s that time again. On the floor with Greg at the 2014 SIA Snow Show and he is on the hunt to find the hottest and coolest stuff coming your way on the slopes. At the VewDo booth with Brew talking about something a little more old school, the Snurferboard.
